Producer Dil Raju’s love story with his wife Tejaswini might just be stranger—and sweeter—than fiction. In a recent interview with NTV Entertainment, Tejaswini opened up about how she met her now-husband and the emotional journey that followed.
Interestingly, Tejaswini admitted she had no interest in getting into a relationship when she first met Raju. A complete outsider to the world of cinema, she even mistook him for a director. “I didn’t know anything about films,” she recalled with a laugh. “I only found out he was a producer after I Googled him.”
What began as a chance encounter at the airport—where Tejaswini worked after completing her MSc in Biochemistry—soon turned into something more. But it wasn’t a straightforward path to love. She revealed that she initially hesitated to move forward after learning about Raju’s past, including the loss of his first wife, Anitha, in 2017.
“I didn’t want to rush into anything,” she shared. “But over time, I realised what really matters is having someone who is honest and supportive.”
Convincing her family, however, was another hurdle. “When Raju asked whom he needed to speak to, I told him about my elder uncle—he’s known for being the strictest in our family. But to my surprise, he was the first to give his approval,” Tejaswini said. Eventually, other family members came around too, although it wasn’t without its struggles.
Reflecting on his side of the story in an earlier interview, Dil Raju once said, “After Anitha passed away, I thought of moving on. I happened to repeatedly bump into Tejaswini at the airport. It took me six months to finally ask for her phone number. I think it was all destined to happen.”
Now happily married, the couple continues to support each other’s journeys. Meanwhile, Dil Raju is back in the spotlight with his upcoming release Thammudu, starring Nithiin and directed by Venu Sriram, set to hit theatres on July 4, 2025. He’s also confirmed another major production—Ravanam, featuring Allu Arjun and helmed by KGF director Prashanth Neel.
