The New York Yankees’ infield needs a change. DJ LeMahieu has struggled at the plate and defensively at second base. The Yankees could add a third baseman and move Jazz Chisholm Jr. to second base, where he is a much better defender. Eugenio Su谩rez is going to be a free agent after the year, and the Arizona Diamondbacks are struggling. He makes sense as a trade chip if the Diamondbacks decide to sell. The Diamondbacks entered Thursday in fourth place in the National League West, but just three games out of a wild card spot. However, they are dealing with some key injuries and may fall out of contention before the trade deadline. They have multiple players who would generate trade interest. However, Su谩rez recently noted that he would prefer not to be traded, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal.”I don’t want to leave Arizona,” Su谩rez said, per Rosenthal. “Obviously, we know how the business of baseball is. But right now, I feel comfortable. I feel every time we win a game, we’ve got a chance to make the playoffs. Every time we lose, maybe something like that pops in my mind. Which is not good for me. I don’t want to get traded.”Su谩rez has been traded before. He was traded to the Seattle Mariners in 2022 and then to the Diamondbacks in 2023. He is 33 years old and is slashing .254/.324/.564 with 26 home runs.He would slot in as the everyday third baseman for the Yankees. His bat would be an upgrade of LeMahieu’s in the lineup, and his arrival would help the defense at third base and second base.More MLB: Red Sox Predicted To Cut Ties With Bounce-Back $10 Million Star
