Tommy Robinson today appeared at Southwark Crown Court to face charges of harassment causing fear of violence against two Mail journalists.
He allegedly told one of them ‘I’m coming to get you’ and posted images of his home.
The activist pleaded not guilty ahead of his trial by jury which was set for October 2026.
Robinson entered the dock shortly after 10.15am for the 14-minute trial preparation hearing. Wearing an open-necked white shirt and blue-checked waistcoat, he confirmed his real name of Stephen Yaxley-Lennon and his date of birth.
Robinson, 42, is charged with two offences between August 5 and 7 last year. A clerk read out the details of the charges, including allegations that Robinson phoned one of the journalists on August 5 and said: ‘I’m coming to get you.’
He also allegedly sent direct messages on X, formerly Twitter, to the other journalist saying: ‘Got your address’ and ‘I’ll be knocking at your door’ and ‘We need to talk’.
Robinson’s actions caused both journalists to ‘to fear violence would be used against them’, the court heard.
Ben Holt, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said at a previous hearing the charges related to alleged multiple posts by Robinson about the journalists on X and calls, over three days, following a news report in the Mail making various allegations about Robinson on August 4 last year.
Today at Southwark Crown Court, the clerk read out some of the tweets posted last August which she said included Robinson’s accusations the journalists had endangered his children.
He is alleged to have posted edited images of a journalist’s wife, daughter and the outside of his home saying: ‘You will all be questioned on camera about how you think endangering children is ok.’
On August 5, he posted: ‘I’ll have every bit of information on the journalists who wrote these lies & endangered & caused fear to my children. This is not acceptable behaviour; it’s intimidation by a corrupt & morally bankrupt media.’
The charges say he messaged one of the journalists saying: ‘Let your bosses know I’m coming to all your houses.’
After the clerk read out the charges, Robinson replied ‘not guilty’ to both of them.
At the previous hearing, the prosecutor said: ‘None of the posts contained direct threats of violence. The prosecution’s case is premised on the conduct of this defendant and others that has caused them to fear violence and the defendant knew or ought to have known that was the case.’
Today Judge Tony Baumgartner, the Recorder of Westminster, said Robinson’s trial would take place on October 19, 2026. A pre-trial review hearing will take place on October 5, 2026.
The judge said Robinson would remain on conditional bail until his trial. Robinson is on bail with three conditions. He must not contact any prosecution witness directly or indirectly and must not post anything online which would identify them.
The third condition states he is ‘not to publish any comment relating to current proceedings that may prejudice either parties to proceedings or proceedings themselves other than those permitted by the Crime and Disorder Act’.
Enhanced security measures were in place for the hearing with members of the public searched and asked to hand in their phones at the door to the courtroom.
Twenty of Mr Robinson’s supporters attended court while three security staff stood at the door to the courtroom.
Robinson was represented by barrister Alex Di Francesco at the brief hearing.
