鈥楧isruptive鈥 passengers on a flight from Birmingham Airport to Tenerife, including one said to have been 鈥榰rinating in the aisle鈥, led to police being called when the plane landed. The incident happened on an easyJet flight, EZY6607, from BHX to Tenerife South on Wednesday (July 2). Passengers on the flight were said to be 鈥榓busive and threatening鈥 according to easyJet. A passenger is said to have urinated in the aisle and was then met by police on arrival according to local newspaper, Canarian Weekly . It said the crew alerted the authorities to a 鈥榤id-flight emergency鈥 which caused a 鈥榮ignificant disturbance鈥 on the plane. Air traffic control on the popular Canary island is said to have given the plane 鈥榩riority鈥, allowing it to land quicker at Tenerife South airport shortly before 3.30pm. A spokeswoman for easyJet told BirminghamLive: 鈥淲e can confirm that flight EZY6607 from Birmingham to Tenerife on 2 July was met by police on arrival due to a group of passengers behaving disruptively onboard. 鈥渆asyJet鈥檚 crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations. “They acted quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers was not compromised at any time. 鈥淭he safety and well-being of our passengers and crew is always easyJet’s priority, and we do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour onboard.鈥
