ITV chef James Martin has informed his fans that he鈥檚 鈥榮o sorry鈥 after pulling out of an upcoming festival appearance. The following year saw James launch his current series James Martin’s Saturday Morning, which has aired on ITV for the past eight years. James is currently enjoying a break from his TV duties, having wrapped up t he latest season of the programme last month. Teasing his plans at the time, James said: 鈥淵orkshire for me. But we will be back here with more top chefs, other brilliant guests, and more delicious recipes later on in the year. 鈥淯ntil then, thanks for watching. Have a wonderful, fantastic summer. I’ll see you out there wherever you are. Thanks for watching, see you again soon, goodbye for now.” The 53-year-old was scheduled to appear at the Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival, which is set to take place from July 18 to 20 at Aireville Park in Skipton. However, James informed his 761,000 followers on Wednesday (July 2) that he is no longer attending the festival which launched in 2016. He said on Instagram in a post where the comments are turned off: 鈥淚鈥檓 so sorry but unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of my control, I will no longer be appearing at the Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival. 鈥淧lease contact the organisers if you have any questions.” Following the announcement, Jon Arrowsmith, the managing director of The Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival, said they were 鈥榓bsolutely gutted that James has decided not to join鈥 them. 鈥淲e know how popular he is and understandably his fans will be disappointed by his decision. Running festivals is not for the faint-hearted and it certainly has its ups and downs. 鈥淲e鈥檝e worked hard to rebuild the festival after it collapsed and we knew it would come with its challenges 鈥 maybe not as many as we鈥檙e facing 鈥 but we鈥檙e working through them. “Please bear with us as we finalise our line-up and hire a replacement chef. But let me reassure everyone, we remain as committed as ever in our promise to deliver a festival Yorkshire will be proud of and one everyone will enjoy,鈥 he told the Yorkshire Post.
