Padmini Kolhapure made her much-awaited comeback on television screens after 11 years. The veteran actress is captivating audiences in the historical drama Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, stepping into the intense role of Rajmata. Having said that, the actress recently sat down for an interview with a news agency where she reflected on the timeless nature of motherhood as she drew parallels between her personal life and her role in the TV show.
During the interaction with IANS, Padmini said, “Portraying Rajmata has been one of the most emotionally enriching experiences for me. There is something incredibly powerful about a mother who is also a queen, someone who must balance the weight of the crown with the warmth of her embrace.”
She further spoke about her experience in the show and her bond with her son, Priyaank. Padmini stated, “As I live and breathe Rajmata on screen, I often find myself drawing parallels to my own life as a mother. The fierce love, the protective instinct, the sacrifices – you start realising how universal and timeless these emotions are. Even though my son is grown up now, the maternal emotions never really fade. They evolve.”
“This role reminded me of those early days, guiding, nurturing, sometimes worrying, but always loving. It has brought me closer to my own journey in ways I had not anticipated. Rajmata’s strength lies in her softness, and I think that is something every mother can relate to,” she added.
In another interview with IANS, Padmini expressed her excitement about returning to the same television channel from where her journey began. She stated, “Stepping into the world of Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan is incredibly special for me, not just because of the powerful role I am playing but also because it marks my return to television after almost 11 years. My journey on television began with Sony Entertainment Television, and now, after all these years, I am returning to the same channel with a role that is both challenging and fulfilling.”

The Sony Entertainment Television show highlights his journey from a young prince to a celebrated ruler and further delves into his struggle against internal conspiracies and external threats while exploring his personal life. Besides Padmini, the show also stars Anuja Sathe and Rumi Khan. The show airs from Monday to Friday at 7:30 PM.
