Nemanja Vidic has revealed he would like to manage Manchester United in the future. Sir Alex Ferguson signed Vidic in December 2005 for around 拢7million, but he was worth every penny and established himself as one of the finest defenders in the Premier League . 鈥孷idic won 15 trophies during his time in Manchester, which included five Premier League titles, and he was eventually let go by Louis van Gaal following injuries and a slump in form. The Serbian subsequently called time on his playing career after a season and a half with Inter Milan due to injury problems. Vidic has previously discussed his desire to explore a career in coaching, although the former defender has three young children and raising his family is his current priority. Having said that, Vidic has admitted he would like to manage United in the future. 鈥淚f I was to manage or coach anyone, it would have to be Manchester United ,” he told The Overlap, produced by Sky Bet . “I like things when they鈥檙e difficult and to change something from difficult to good, this is something I like to do.鈥 Vidic was asked about his immediate plans and said: “I’m open an opportunity to be a coach, or to work in football as a Sporting Director, or even the Serbian President of the FA 鈥 that was the plan a few years ago 鈥 it didn鈥檛 happen but maybe it could happen in the future. 鈥淥bviously, what I鈥檓 doing outside [of football], business wise, creating a company which is going to be not just successful but is going to be who I am as well. “Everything I do, I like to do the best I can, and to produce the quality. In the business I鈥檓 doing now, with the apartments, that鈥檚 what I鈥檓 trying to achieve as well. To create good apartments and nice buildings, which I鈥檓 going to be proud walking in, and being proud of what I鈥檝e built.鈥 He discussed his son and added: 鈥淚t鈥檚 difficult watching my son play football because he鈥檚 playing centre-back and I see everything in terms of what he can do better. “I鈥檓 the type of person that when they see, they have to say 鈥 I can鈥檛 keep it to myself. He鈥檚 learning now to accept that but it鈥檚 good. I like watching him when I see his improvement and in the last year, he has improved a lot. 鈥淚n my house, we don鈥檛 really talk much about football. We don鈥檛 talk about how many trophies I won 鈥 I鈥檓 not much in the media. People are always saying, 鈥榊our son has pressure鈥 鈥 I don鈥檛 think he has any pressure. He has an advantage. “Everyone knows who his dad is and the first thing they are going to do is compare and see how good he is. So, people will come to watch you, and if you are good, you are good.” Vidic was speaking during an interview with Sky Bet’s The Overlap . — Here at The Manchester Evening News, we are dedicated to bringing you the best Manchester United coverage and analysis.
