Young girl dead and three seriously injured following horror crash

A young girl has died and three people, including a female child, have been seriously injured after a horror crash on Wednesday evening. Local police attended the scene of the collision between a car and a van on the R240 at Carrowmore, Glentogher, Carndonash in Co Donegal around 6.30pm on Wednesday, July 2, reports Belfast Live. Tragically, a young girl passed away in the collision, while the famle driver of the car, whose age is currently unknown, a male front-seat passenger, whose age is also unknown and a female child who was a rear passenger were all removed from the scene and raced to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry. All three remained in a serious condition on Wednesday night. No other injuries were reported, the Irish Mirror reports. The road was closed as technical examinations were carried out by Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions were put in place. The road remained closed overnight. Police in Ireland are appealing to anyone wo witnessed the crash to get in contact. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 6pm and 6.30pm on Wednesday are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardai虂. SDLP MLA for Foyle Mark H Durkan expressed his sadness on hearing of the tragedy. He posted on Facebook : “Heartbreaking news from Donegal, where a young girl has lost her life in a collision in Carndonagh. Three other people are seriously injured. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all affected.”
