Appeal to identify man who died after collapsing on Birmingham street

The man, who is only known as ‘George’ collapsed on Slade Road, near the junction with George Road, in Erdington on April 30.

Ambulance colleagues took him to hospital, where he sadly later died.

Despite a post-mortem examination and thorough investigations by our officers and the Coroner’s office, the man’s identity is still not known.

West Midlands Police believe George was approximately 48 years old, with a scar on his forehead and left arm. He is also thought to be originally from Romania.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “Our investigations have also led us to believe that George likely came to the UK from Bucharest, socialised in Erdington, and worked at a business near to where he collapsed.

“Although his death is not being treated as suspicious, anyone with information about George should contact us on 101 using the log number Log 2981 of today (2 July).”
