SpaceX, Elon Musk’s space tech company, has been sued by an ex-employee over serious issues like racial discrimination and harassment. The employee, Jenna Shumway, served as a top security personnel in the firm. According to the latest updates, she has claimed that her manager Daniel Collins treated her in an unjust way. She was met with a layoff when she raised a concern related to the same. Shumway’s Lawsuit And Things That Happened In The Background Jenna Shumway joined SpaceX in 2022 and got promoted to senior contractor program security officer. Her lawsuit mentioned that the environment of the organization changed drastically when Daniel Collins joined as the lead of security compliance for government programs at SpaceX. As for his background, Collins is a former Defense Department official. The complaint filed by Shumway also suggested that she was stripped of the opportunity to apply for the director position, as reported by TechCrunch. Shumway’s allegations said that Collins launched a full-fledged harassment campaign against her and removed her from all her responsibilities. She also accused Collins violated top-secret government protocols and hid it from the officials. Apart from that, it has been mentioned that Collins made lewd comments on other women at the organization. Shumway also said that when she raised a complaint with the HR department alongside another female employee, they were met with a ‘avoid staying alone with him.’ The allegations by Shumway might hold some truth because SpaceX is already under scrutiny by the government for weak security protocols, as reported by The New York Times. It has also been said that unqualified executives were allowed in classified meetings. All in all, this adds to the already running multiple legal actions against Elon Musk’s SpaceX.
