THE Ministry of Health and Social Services has awarded scholarships to 52 undergraduate students pursuing studies in various health-related fields.
The Minister of Health, Dr Esperance Luvindao, highlighted that the scholarships form part of Project 2025, a training programme aimed at empowering medical students across a range of disciplines.

鈥淏uilding on Project 2013, the current training programme, Project 2025, is an integral part of our health workforce strategic plan. This training programme will run for the next three years and is intended to produce 450 graduates in various fields ranging from dental therapy, medical engineering, dental technology, optometry, dietetics, audiology, speech and language therapy, medical physics, clinical technology, to mention but a few,鈥 Luvindao said.
She revealed that the ministry received 120 applications countrywide, from which a Pre-Selection Committee reviewed all applications and chose the 52 beneficiaries based on academic merit.
鈥淎ll the scholarship beneficiaries will be required to sign bonding agreements with the Ministry of Health and Social Services, whereby you will be required to return, upon successful completion of studies, to serve the Ministry wherever the need is, in the profession for which you were sponsored,鈥 the Minister added.
