The Islands Healthcare Complex 鈥 Macao Medical Center of Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) officially launched its inaugural Medical Residency Program at the Macao Union Medical Center鈥檚 Administrative Building auditorium earlier this week.
28 resident physicians from Macau began their six-year training on July 1, symbolized by the presentation of work badges by the Health Bureau (SSM) director Alvis Lo.
Deputy director of the Islands Healthcare Complex, Lei Wai Seng, highlighted the program鈥檚 goal to elevate local specialist physician standards through cooperation with the SSM.
Leng Xiaomei, the Islands Healthcare Complex鈥檚 Internal Medicine Department coordinator, encouraged residents, saying, 鈥淲ith the full support of the Macao SAR Government and the nurturing spirit of the PUMCH, you can definitely fulfill your practices and make sustained progress.鈥
The program offers a structured pathway from residency to specialist certification, with future training opportunities at PUMCH itself.
