3 nabbed for rowdy-sheeter鈥檚 murder; wine bottles and blood-stained stones found

Kukatpally police arrested three persons in connection with the murder of a 26-year-old businessman and rowdy-sheeter from Borabanda Syed Shahed.

The accused, identified as Y. Hanak alias Munna, 25, Md Sajid, 24, and Md Sameer Khan alias Dagad Sameer, 25, were remanded in judicial custody.

According to the police, Shahed, who had a criminal background, had developed enmity with one of the accused, Sameer Khan. The tension reportedly escalated after Shahed publicly criticised Sameer on social media, and threatened his standing in local circles.

The other two accused, all known to Shahed and once part of his close circle, conspired to eliminate the victim in order to seize control of his local influence and criminal reputation.

On June 29, the three accused convinced Shahed to join them at a birthday party of a common friend named Pavan. All of them gathered at an open ground behind Dev Istana Homes at Prakash Nagar, Kukatpally, where they consumed alcohol. Sajid allegedly slashed Shahed鈥檚 throat with a broken liquor bottle, while Munna and Sameer struck his head with stones, killing him on the spot.

Police recovered wine bottles and blood-stained stones from the crime scene, along with the clothes and mobile phones used by the accused to plan the attack.

Police said that Sameer was previously booked in multiple cases ranging from theft to stalking and murder, in multiple police stations, including Jubilee Hills, Sanathnagar, SR Nagar, and Bachupally. He is also a listed rowdy-sheeter at Borabanda police station. Further investigation is underway.
