ITTN鈥檚 Shane Cullen attended a 鈥淏reakfast with Colombia鈥 at the Colombian Residence, Wilford House, Dublin Road, Bray, with Procolombia is the organisation representing Colombia鈥檚 interests, including promoting tourism and the country鈥檚 image.
The event was hosted by H.E. Betty Escorcia Baquero, Ambassador of Colombia to Ireland, along with Juliana Torres, Senior Tourism Specialist of Procolumbia UK. The morning provided an opportunity to discover Colombia鈥檚 rich culture and stunning landscapes during a tour through the six regions of Colombia: Western and Eastern Andes, Caribbean, Orinoquia, Pacific and the Amazon.
Colombia is at the northernmost end of South America. The country鈥檚 culture blends Indigenous, Spanish, African and Arab roots which is reflected in its music, food and streets. Rather than seasons, Colobia鈥檚 equatorial setting provides five distinct climates driven by its altitude:
Greater Colombian Caribbean 鈥 much more than just the Caribbean

In 2024, the arrival of visitors to Colombia increased 15.4% year on year, equating to an additional 6.4 million visitors last year. Facinatingly, between June and November 2025, Colombia ranked second in passenger bookings with 520,632, behind Mexico, outperforming competitor markets such as Peru, Chile and Costa Rica. Furthermore, Colombia offers excellent connectivity with 11 international airports and 55+ domestic airports. Last year alone, 26 new international routes came on stream with direct flights from London, Madrid and Barcelona in Europe.
