Aerosmith鈥檚 founding member Joe Perry has teased a possible reunion tour, which would come as a shock to fans after frontman Steven Tyler鈥檚 vocal issues.

Last year the I Don鈥檛 Want To Miss A Thing hitmakers announced they would not be touring again after Steven, 77, damaged his vocal cords during the band鈥檚 Peace Out tour in 2023.

10 months into their Peace Out Farewell Tour 鈥 which saw a string of concerts rescheduled 鈥 the band announced Steven鈥檚 鈥榬ecovery from his vocal injury is not possible鈥 and said they had made the 鈥榟eartbreaking and difficult decision鈥 to retire from touring.

Following a one-off charity performance in February, former Guns N鈥 Roses drummer Matt Sorum shared an update on his friend Steven, saying: 鈥楴ow, is he going to tour again? No, he鈥檚 not.

鈥楤ecause, and I explained this to people, Steven cannot put himself under the rigors of doing a full worldwide tour because there鈥檚 a lot of pressure.鈥

Now, Aerosmith guitarist Joe has given fresh hope for fans of the 70s rock band in an interview on the SiriusXM show Trunk Nation.

鈥業 don鈥檛 know man. We鈥檙e talking about it. We鈥檙e all alive and well, so we will just have to see,鈥 he said of future gigs.

鈥業 know there鈥檚 going to be at least another Aerosmith gig, and I鈥檓 not looking forward to putting the setlist together for that one.鈥

Asked whether Steven would be up to 鈥 and up for 鈥 it, Joe said: 鈥業 think he would, but it鈥檚 a matter of getting there. We鈥檙e up there man, and it鈥檚 a lot.

鈥榃ith Covid and everyone being home for that length of time, it was like, 鈥淥h, so this is how other people live. Sleeping in your own bed every night.鈥

鈥業 don鈥檛 think I鈥檝e gone a year without something on the calendar and having to be somewhere. So that鈥檚 the bigger picture. I don鈥檛 know. I got enough left in me, I still want to do it.鈥

Sharing a statement on social media in August the band thanked fans for their support over the decades.

鈥業t was 1970 when a spark of inspiration became Aerosmith. Thanks to you, our Blue Army, that spark caught flame and has been burning for over five decades.

鈥楽ome of you have been with us since the beginning and all of you are the reason we made rock 鈥榥鈥 roll history,鈥 it began.

鈥業t has been the honor of our lives to have our music become part of yours. In every club, on every massive tour and at moments grand and private you have given us a place in the soundtrack of your lives.

鈥榃e鈥檝e always wanted to blow your mind when performing. As you know, Steven鈥檚 voice is an instrument like no other.

鈥楬e has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury.

鈥榃e鈥檝e seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible.

鈥榃e have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision 鈥 as a band of brothers 鈥 to retire from the touring stage.鈥

It concluded: 鈥榃e are grateful beyond words for everyone who was pumped to get on the road with us one last time. Grateful to our expert crew, our incredible team and the thousands of talented people who鈥檝e made our historic runs possible.

鈥楢 final thank you to you 鈥 the best fans on planet Earth. Play our music loud, now and always. Dream On. You鈥檝e made our dreams come true.鈥

The band鈥檚 line-up had mostly remained for much of the past five decades, with the other four members being Joe, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer and Brad Whitford.

Aerosmith is the best-selling American hard rock band of all time, having sold more than 150 million records worldwide, including over 85 million records in the United States.
