Two students from Cork have been named among the 2025 class of George Moore Scholars.
Harry O’Brien and Aoife Byrne from Cork were among 57 students selected from throughout Ireland.
The announcement was made this week at a special event hosted at LinkedIn’s Community Space in Dublin. Each scholar has been selected to pursue a master’s degree at a leading international university.
Later this year, O’Brien and Byrne will join fellow scholars on academic journeys spanning the United States, Canada, the UK, and Europe. Since its launch in 2020, the George Moore Scholars programme has awarded over €13m in funding to support more than 250 students.
Launched by The Ireland Funds, the programme invests in the next generation of leaders and innovators and widens access to postgraduate education and extends learning opportunities for students across the island of Ireland.
Scholars also receive mentorship and become part of a global alumni network.
