A hugely popular vintage event is coming back to Greater Manchester later this month – and the big line-up of DJs, cars and traders has now been revealed. The Classic Car Boot Sale has become renowned for its celebration of classic vehicles as well as vintage and designer second-hand fashion and homewares since launching in London 12 years go. The event, which also features DJ sets and street food and bars served from classic buses and trucks, launched its first event in the north at MediaCity last year and it proved to be a resounding success. Organised by Wayne Hemingway CBE , who founded the popular 90s fashion brand Red or Dead, the event will be returning to the Salford Quays hub next weekend (July 12 and 13). Alongside some of the country鈥檚 best sustainable fashion and vintage homewares collectors, the Classic Car Boot Sale will also feature photo opportunities with more than 20 iconic cars and campervans, including a 1935 American Ford, a 1953 Chevrolet Bel Air and a rare 1974 DeTomaso Pantera. There will also be street food from local and favourite independent traders like Vanoffee, The Little Red Food Truck and Exclusive Scoop. There will also be the Charity Super.Mkt pop-up, featuring football shirts, band tees and denimwear being sold off to raise money for a number of charities. A top-tier line-up of DJs will also spin some of their favourite songs, with the likes of Northern Soul, Jamie Groovement & DJ Ana May, Andy Shake鈥檔鈥橣ingerpop, oFf thE beAten TrAx, Martin the Mod and Dr Sid set to take to the double-decker rave bus. In addition, the event will also feature free dance classes, teaching people the best moves when it comes to the likes of Northern Soul, Jive, and Swing, and a 鈥楤est In Show鈥 catwalk where people and brands can show off their best struts for a chance to win prizes. The likes of Eyewood Vintage, who are known for supplying costumes to top Netflix productions, and Moondream Vintage, with their bespoke 60s and 70s vintage menswear, will also be in attendance across the weekend selling their top items. 鈥淲e鈥檙e thrilled to be bringing The Classic Car Boot Sale back to MediaCity after such an incredible response last year,鈥 founder Wayne said. 鈥淭his event is about so much more than just shopping鈥攊t鈥檚 a joyful celebration of creativity, sustainability, style and community. 鈥淲hether you’re here for the fashion, the music, the food, or the stunning vehicles, it鈥檚 all about having fun and connecting with like-minded people.
