鈥淵ou鈥檙e surrounded by ambition here,鈥 Tasneem adds. 鈥淵ou feel it in the air. That energy fuels me.鈥
This isn鈥檛 a woman trying to prove she鈥檚 still relevant. She鈥檚 never stopped being relevant 鈥 she鈥檚 just changing the narrative.
Mums who reclaim the mirror
We all know the script. Motherhood is beautiful, rewarding, sacred 鈥 and somehow, code for 鈥渇ade to the background.鈥 Not in Tasneem鈥檚 world.
鈥淚 had to ask myself: am I done?鈥 she says. 鈥淒o I just play the support role for the rest of my life? And the answer was a very clear no. I still have dreams, and I鈥檓 allowed to chase them.鈥
She talks about parenting like a boss 鈥 literally.
鈥淏eing a mum made me more resilient, more intuitive, and ten times more efficient,鈥 she says. 鈥淚 don鈥檛 waste time 鈥 I know who I am.鈥
Yes, she鈥檚 managing school runs and PTA WhatsApp groups. But she鈥檚 also fitting in media training, photo shoots, and Q&A drills between kids’ sports day and curfews.
A love-hate relationship with pageants
For someone walking headfirst into the glitz of a beauty pageant, Tasneem is refreshingly real about its flaws.
“Beauty contests can be incredibly reductive,鈥 she admits.
鈥淭hey can reduce women to how they look in a dress, or how eloquently they answer a question in 30 seconds. But if you know your worth, you can flip that script.鈥
