With just two months left for Bihar elections, the political battleground is intensifying as the BJP and RJD exchange fierce allegations. The latest flashpoint is RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav鈥檚 comment suggesting the Waqf Act amendment should be “thrown into the dustbin.” BJP leaders reacted sharply, calling it unconstitutional and an attempt to appease Muslim voters. Quoting Article 256 of the Constitution, BJP leaders claimed no state government can discard a central law. They accused Tejashwi of supporting Sharia law and Halal politics, and even suggested that such views align more with Pakistan than India. BJP鈥檚 Pradeep Bhandari further pointed to Lalu Prasad Yadav’s past statements on Muslim reservation, calling it a pattern of minority appeasement. Tejashwi hit back, saying BJP is spreading communal hatred and distracting from real issues. He emphasized his politics is based on 鈥渒arma鈥 and development, not religion, promising to beautify both temples and mosques. RJD鈥檚 Nawal Kishore defended the remark, highlighting how even PM Modi repealed farm laws after public backlash, proving that unjust laws can be reversed.
