Bayern Munich has reportedly made a solid move to snap up Luis Diaz from Liverpool, as rumours about the forward’s future at Anfield continue to swirl. Diaz is fresh off his top season with the Reds but has been linked with several clubs recently, including Bayern. The Saudi Pro League has been touted as a potential new home for Diaz, as well as Barcelona , and the latest buzz from German source Bild suggests that Bayern has stepped up its pursuit of the winger. It’s reported that “specific figures” have been thrown around and that Bayern is getting serious about bagging Diaz. Intriguingly, the report also mentions Real Madrid showing interest in Diaz. Bayern’s keenness on Diaz has ramped up due to Nico Williams making it known he’s got his sights set on Barcelona, while another target, Jamie Gittens, is heading to Chelsea , reports Liverpool.com . The Bavarian side is on the hunt for a new winger following Leroy Sane’s exit to Galatasaray on a free transfer last month. Marcus Rashford is named as a possible alternative to Diaz, with the England star expected to part ways with Manchester United this summer. Liverpool would prefer to keep Diaz in their ranks, but there’s little hope he’ll extend his current contract at Anfield, which runs out in 2027. Liverpool has reportedly tried to sort out Diaz’s contract situation, but with little success. Instead of selling him this summer, the club would rather get the most out of his performances over the next two years and let him go for free after the 2026-27 season. Diaz is currently on the same deal he agreed to when he joined Liverpool in January 2022. As a result, he earns significantly less than some of the Reds’ top stars. However, he was a key player for Arne Slot’s side this season, and earlier this year, Sky Sports reported that Liverpool was planning to offer a contract that reflected his importance. However, a new contract doesn’t seem to be on the cards, and unless things change in the next few years, Diaz is set to leave for free in two years’ time, when he will be 30. In other news, Nottingham Forest has reportedly agreed a fee with Lyon for winger Malick Fofana, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool. Lyon’s financial woes, which resulted in their relegation to Ligue 2 last month, mean they are being forced to sell their best players, with Rayan Cherki already having moved to Manchester City . However, while Forest has struck a deal with Lyon to sign promising young winger Fofana, there is no agreement between Forest and the player yet, with rumours suggesting he is holding out for a move to a Champions League club.
