iPad devices are known for being incredibly capable little machines. Bridging the gap between a smart phone and a full-blown laptop, they’re ideal for browsing the web on a larger screen, keeping up with TV shows or even getting a bit of light work done on the go. However, if you want to pick up a brand new iPad model, you’re looking at spending over 拢300 at a minimum. For many, this isn’t a feasible cost for such a device, which is why many shoppers are turning to the pre-owned market to find a bargain. One such bargain can be found at Wowcher which is currently selling an iPad Air model for under 拢40. It’s a refurbished first generation device, so it can’t quite handle some of the more impressive Apple Intelligence tasks like newer devices can, but it’s still more than capable of daily activities such as social media browsing and watching Netflix. The model on sale for 拢39.99 is equipped with a 9.7-inch display that sports a 2048×1536 resolution. That works out to 263 pixels per inch, which is still considered quite a high resolution in 2025. It’s all powered by the A7 chip from Apple, alongside 4GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. These specs are a little long in the tooth by today’s standards, but they’re just about good enough to keep up with lightweight tasks. Some creative users have put these tablets to dedicated uses, like digital photo frames that are left permanently plugged in. Other gadget fans use them as a dedicated digital eReader since eBooks take up barely any space on the 16GB storage drive. It’s worth bearing in mind that these devices are refurbished, meaning they’ve had previous owners. However, they’ve been restored to their former glory by professionals and, outside of a few cosmetic marks here and there, they should work exactly as they did out of the box. For those looking for a brand new iPad model, you can still find the 2022 iPad model for 拢269 at Currys. Or if you can make the jump to Android, this Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 is down to 拢79.85 at Amazon. The Wowcher iPad Air orders are being fulfilled by London Magic Store, which has several 5-star reviews on Trustpilot that account for 80% of the 963 ratings. “A brilliant service. Recently bought a refurbished Ipad using wowcher. The iPad was in immaculate condition but I decided I wanted a newer model with bigger download storage. I contacted Magic Store and they organised immediate exchange with the returns pre paid. Lady I spoke to was very helpful and kind very knowledgeable about the iPad that would suit me,” wrote one recent customer. Another reviewer wrote: “Very reasonable price, and fast delivery. Does what is says on the tin.” Meanwhile, a third said: “Excellent speedy service. Product just what I was looking for. Good condition and no problems.” Sadly, a few other customers did end up running into bother with the packaging that their items arrived in.. “I ordered a ‘grade A’ Samsung watch from Wowcher . It did arrive in good time but in a small air pocket envelope with no charger (not ideal and not particularly safe),” said one shopper.
