The Chase’s Shaun Wallace has teased 鈥榓 lot of fun鈥 as he announced that he鈥檚 joining a new ITV show. Shaun, 65, has been a chaser on the ITV quiz show since its premiere back in 2009, where he is dubbed The Dark Destroyer. Rising to fame in 2004 when he became a champion of the BBC general knowledge programme Mastermind, Shaun has gone on to become one of the UK鈥檚 favourite TV personalities. Taking to X, previously known as Twitter , this week, the barrister revealed to his fans that they鈥檒l be able to see him take part in a programme unlike anything he鈥檚 been in before. Speaking to 89,800 followers, Shaun said that he will be competing in ITV鈥檚 brand new reality series The Great Escapers. The series follows a host of famous faces from all walks of life going on holiday as they compete to organise a fun day out while in a tropical location. Featuring stars from Coronation Street , I鈥檓 A Celebrity, The Chase and Loose Women, the series promises to be one of the must-watch shows of the year. Joining Shaun on the programme is fellow Chasers Mark Labbett, known as The Beast, and Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan, who have both taken part in other projects over the years. Speaking from the show鈥檚 set in Greece, Shaun wrote: “Very excited to be filming in Rhodes for a new show called 鈥楾he Great Escapers鈥 with Mark @MarkLabbett and Jenny @jenlion. 鈥淟ooking forward to having a lot of fun with those two. Doing a spot of fitness in the sunshine, before we get going.” He added in a separate video: “Well here I am back in one of my favourite islands in the world. The island of Rhodes in the Dodecanese. 鈥淚鈥檓 about to take part in a wonderful exciting holiday adventure called The Great Escapers.” Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment & Daytime at ITV, issued a statement about The Great Escapers, highlighting what viewers can expect. “We鈥檝e got some of ITV鈥檚 best-known faces flying out to the most gorgeous destinations in this brand-new series. 鈥淲e can鈥檛 wait to see the cast of Corrie, I鈥檓 A Celeb, The Chase and Loose Women in all of their holiday glory,鈥 she said. Produced in partnership with Jet2, The Great Escapers will air later this year on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
