Manchester United wait on potential 拢7m windfall amid major transfer decision

Manchester United are waiting to hear if they are in line to receive a potential 拢7million windfall from Anthony Elanga’s transfer to Newcastle United. United sold the Swedish international winger to Nottingham Forest two seasons ago and he has established himself as one of the leading wingers in the Premier League . Elanga scored six goals and registered 12 assists last term to help Forest qualify for European football and Newcastle are now keen to link him with his Sweden international team-mate Alexander Isak in their forward line. Our sister title Chronicle Live have reported that Newcastle have made a second offer of 拢50million for the 22-year-old, having seen their first offer of 拢45million rejected. The report claims Newcastle are waiting on a response and United will be interested spectators. It is believed United hold a 20% sell-on clause on any transfer for Elanga meaning they will be entitled to 20% of any profit Forest make on the player. Should Forest sell Elanga for 拢50million, they will make a 拢35million profit on their 拢15million investment from two years ago. It means United would pocket 拢7million and that would go towards their own transfer business this summer. Having signed Matheus Cunha for 拢62.5million from Wolves, United are also keen to sign Bryan Mbeumo, a new forward and potentially a new goalkeeper, midfielder and wing-back. To do that, they must recoup some funds and while 拢7million won’t solely buy a new player, it is a helpful amount towards sealing any future transfer business this summer.
