Denise Welch says 'first and probably last' as she speaks out on Glastonbury appearance

Denise Welch has admitted her first Glastonbury Festival experience could be her ‘last’ after she got to watch her son headline the iconic event. It’s not secret that the Loose Women star is the proud mum of The 1975 frontman Matty Healy, and the group were seen headling Friday night (June 27) of Glastonbury on the Pyramid Stage. Denise attended the festival with her current partner, Matty’s stepfather Lincoln Townley. Over the weekend, the former Coronation Street actress shared video footage on her Instagram stories showing an emotional moment after the performance. She reposted a clip from the band’s set that described it as “1000/10” and included her own emotional caption to capture her feelings on the night as she typed out a series of crying emojis over the fan video. Denise also shared a video of a fan’s flag that had her face printed on it. She wrote in the accompanying caption: “An unbelievable night!!!” Now, Denise has reflected on the weekend as a whole. She shared a video to Instagram which was full of pictures of her time at Worthy Farm, in which she could be seen with the likes of Lewis Capaldi, who emotionally returned to the festival, and Saturday Other Stage headliner Charli XCX. The 67-year-old shared: “Seeing my son and his best friends go from playing in our garage to headlining Glastonbury was the most overwhelming and emotional experience. Surrounded by our family and closest friends, I’ll never forget it. “I was so incredibly proud because I know how hard they have worked to get to and stay at the top of their game. As for the festival, I found it equally emotional and overwhelming trying to get around!”. Denise then candidly admitted: “My first and probably my last Glasto, but I saw my son headline, had my face on flags and got chatted up by rappers in Greggs! ! ! I’m now back in my favourite place. In bed getting ready to watch 24 Hours in Police Custody. Peace.” Loose Women co-star Coleen Nolan said: ” Ahh Den what a fantastic post.. so happy for you and yes those boys deserve it all.. you must be so proud!” Presenter Kate Thornton replied: “A moment in time you鈥檒l never forget. Precious memories and milestones.” Corrie’s Sally Dynevor added: “Fabulous.”
