In A Close Call, Mumbai Metro Staff Saves A 2-Year-Old From Mishap

A near-miss incident was swiftly handled on Mumbai Metro鈥檚 Yellow Line 2A, thanks to the prompt response of metro staff member Sanket Chodankar. The situation unfolded on Sunday, June 29, at Bangur Nagar station when a two-year-old child accidentally walked out of the metro just as the doors were about to shut. The incident, caught on CCTV and now widely shared online, has drawn widespread praise for Chodankar鈥檚 quick thinking.
In the footage, a train is seen stationed at the platform when the toddler unexpectedly walks out just before the doors shut, leaving the child alone on the platform while the parents remain inside the train.
Chodankar, stationed at the platform, immediately noticed the situation. He acted promptly by alerting the train operator, who quickly halted the train before it moved. Chodankar then rushed to the child and ensured his safety. Within seconds, the train doors were reopened, allowing the child and parents to reunite.
