The sudden demise of Indian model and actress Shefali Jariwala, famed for the hit song Kaanta Laga, has left the entertainment industry and her fans in deep shock. Known for her vibrant onscreen presence, Shefali Jariwala was married to actor Parag Tyagi at the time of her passing. Amid the outpouring of tributes, her former husband, singer Harmeet Singh of the musical duo Meet Brothers, has spoken emotionally about their last interaction.
Harmeet Singh Shares His Grief
Taking to social media, Harmeet Singh shared his sorrow and disbelief. In an Instagram story, he posted a photo of Shefali Jariwala along with an emotional message:
鈥淚 am absolutely shattered and cannot believe the news of Shefali鈥檚 sudden and untimely demise. We spent some beautiful years together, which will always remain close to my heart.鈥
He also extended his condolences to Shefali Jariwala鈥檚 parents, her husband Parag Tyagi, and her sister Shivani Jariwala, writing that being apart has only made the loss harder to bear.
Recalling Their Last Conversation
In an interview with film critic Vicky Lalwani, Harmeet Singh recalled their final meeting on a private flight from Bangladesh around two to three years ago.
鈥淪unny Leone, Shefali and I were returning from a show. Shefali and I sat next to each other and talked for hours. Despite everything, we had a special bond.鈥
Harmeet Singh revealed that even after their separation, they remained cordial.
鈥淲e always greeted each other warmly at events and parties. Her passing is truly heartbreaking.鈥
Harmeet Singh also expressed regret at not being able to attend Shefali Jariwala鈥檚 funeral. Despite their past differences, he emphasised that time had healed many wounds, and their last meeting was a peaceful and heartfelt one.
Shefali Jariwala鈥檚 Allegations Against Harmeet Singh
Though they appeared amicable in later years, their marriage, which lasted from 2005 to 2009, was far from harmonious. In a past interview with Times Now, Shefali Jariwala had spoken about her troubled relationship with Harmeet Singh.
鈥淚 was not happy. It was a torturous marriage, and I faced mental violence daily,鈥 she stated.
Shefali Jariwala credited her independence and financial self-sufficiency as what gave her the strength to walk away from the relationship.
