Rwandan bilateral contingent participates in community work in Bangui

The Rwanda Bilateral Contingent in the Central African Republic today participated in community work (Umuganda) in Bangui City.

They were joined by local leaders and citizens, along with the Honourable Minister of Infrastructure of the Central African Republic, Rokosse Kamot and the Mayor of Bimbo District, Ms Dorthea Mbokani.

The community work activities involved cleaning Bimbo Primary School and Bimbo market, as well as transferring waste material to planned dumping sites.

The Minister of Infrastructure of the Central African Republic, Rokosse Kamot, expressed his gratitude to all participants for their dedication and support to the local community. He specifically thanked the Rwandan Bilateral Forces for taking part in the community work, noting that such initiatives foster unity among the local population.

Madam Mbokani, Mayor of Bimbo District, commended the Rwandan forces for their steadfast commitment to peace, security, and grassroots development.

Speaking at the event, the Rwanda Bilateral Contingent Commander, Col Alex Nsengiyumva, highlighted the significance of Umuganda as a cherished Rwandan tradition that promotes unity, responsibility, and collaboration between the military and civilian populations.

He urged the local population of Bangui to adopt community work as one of the practical solutions towards maintaining a clean and safe environment.
