Gaza, June 28 (QNA) – The number of child fatalities due to malnutrition in the Gaza Strip has risen to 66 since October 7, 2023, as a result of the ongoing Israeli blockade, according to the Government Media Office in Gaza.
The office stated Saturday that the increase in deaths is directly linked to the continued closure of border crossings, severe food shortages, and the Israeli ban on the entry of infant formula and nutritional supplements intended for vulnerable groups, particularly infants and the sick.
The World Health Organization (WHO) revealed in a statement today that approximately 112 Palestinian children are being admitted to hospitals in Gaza every day for treatment of malnutrition since the beginning of this year, citing the suffocating blockade imposed by Israel.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate due to Israel鈥檚 ongoing refusal to allow humanitarian aid into the territory, the relentless bombardment of all areas, and the destruction of remaining medical facilities, public services, and shelters for displaced persons. (QNA)
