FCTA, MTN Push Digital Learning Revolution In Abuja Schools

ABUJA 鈥 In a major boost to digital education, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to providing a conducive environment for teaching and learning, as telecommunications giant MTN Nigeria donated 600 learning tablets to 12 public secondary schools across the FCT.

Speaking at the official handover ceremony, the Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, represented by her Special Assistant on Technical Matters, Tpl. Michael Bawa, described the donation as a timely investment in the future of Nigerian students.

She praised MTN鈥檚 continued commitment to corporate social responsibility and noted that empowering students with digital tools aligns perfectly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu鈥檚 Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes access to quality education and digital inclusion nationwide.

Chairman of the MTN Board, Dr. Ernest Ndukwe, said the donation reflects MTN鈥檚 belief that 鈥渆veryone deserves the benefits of a modern connected life.鈥

He revealed that the initiative is part of MTN鈥檚 plan to distribute 4,600 digital learning tablets nationwide to bridge the digital divide in public schools.

The Mandate Secretary, FCT Education Secretariat, Dr. Danlami Hayyo, represented by Dr. Kolawole Olabashola, commended the gesture, describing it as a step that will enable Abuja schools to compete globally and equip students with 21st-century skills.
