Across two weekends, locals are invited to three inclusive, family-friendly gatherings packed with music, games, entertainment, and a strong message of community belonging.

Summer Celebration – ‘The Musicals’ The Salvation Army, The Leys, Darlaston, WS10 8DP Saturday 5 July 2025 3pm鈥5pm

This lively celebration features music from the community choir, a family quiz, children鈥檚 games, a silent disco, and more. Refreshments will be available at low cost.

It鈥檚 a fun, musical experience for all ages鈥攃ome early and stay for the whole show!

Enjoy an uplifting afternoon of music around the bandstand featuring The Birmingham Citadel Young People鈥檚 Band.

Bring a picnic and a chair, and relax in the park with friends, neighbours and family.

Picnic in the Park Willenhall Memorial Park Bandstand Sunday 20 July 2025 3pm鈥5pm

A relaxed afternoon of brass band performances, and music from the African Praise Group. Pack a picnic and gather with others to celebrate community spirit in the heart of Willenhall.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnic and blankets and simply enjoy the afternoon in the beautiful surroundings of Willenhall Memorial Park.

Organisers say the events are much more than just entertainment鈥攖hey鈥檙e about creating safe, welcoming spaces where everyone belongs.

Lee Highton-Nicholls, leader of The Salvation Army in Willenhall and Darlaston said, 鈥淲e know that loneliness, particularly among older people, is a growing concern in our communities. These events are a chance to come together and remind each other that we鈥檙e not alone. Whether you鈥檙e a family with young children, an older adult looking for connections, or someone who feels vulnerable鈥攖his is your space too. We welcome everyone with open arms.鈥
