JERSEY Cricket has named its squad for the upcoming ICC Men鈥檚 T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier, taking place in the Netherlands from 5鈥11 July.
The team will face hosts Netherlands, as well as Guernsey, Italy, and Scotland in a round-robin format.
This year鈥檚 tournament also includes a set of ICC-organised warm-up matches, giving Jersey valuable preparation against strong opposition in Scotland and the Netherlands ahead of the main fixtures.
The top two teams from the Qualifier will secure a place at the ICC Men鈥檚 T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka in 2026.
Director of Cricket, Paul Hutchison, said: 鈥淭his is an excellent opportunity for us to test ourselves against some of the best teams in Europe.鈥
鈥淭he squad has been preparing with real focus and intensity, and every match gives us the chance to show what Jersey cricket stands for 鈥 skill, spirit, and ambition. A place at the World Cup would be a milestone moment for Jersey Cricket. We know it won鈥檛 come easy, but we鈥檙e ready for the challenge.鈥
All matches will be streamed live on icc.tv
JERSEY CRICKET SQUAD
Chuggy Perchard (C), Jake Dunford (WK), Dominic Blampied, Charlie Brennan, Harrison Carlyon, Patrick Gouge, Nick Greenwood, Jonty Jenner, Will Perchard, Theo Pullman, George Richardson, Julius Sumerauer, Asa Tribe, Zak Tribe, Ben Ward
Jersey Cricket issues this statement following the parallel press release announcing the 15-player squad selected to represent Jersey in the ICC Men鈥檚 T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier, taking place in the Netherlands from 29 June to 12 July 2025.
The squad includes Nick Greenwood, a player currently involved in legal proceedings in Jersey which have become public in recent days.
As the matter is now subject to ongoing legal process, Jersey Cricket will not comment further on the incident or on any matters that are not cricket related. However, we can confirm that Jersey Cricket is not contributing to or funding any legal costs related to this matter.
Sarah Gomersall, CEO of Jersey Cricket, said: 鈥淲e acknowledge the seriousness of the situation and are disappointed that it has arisen. However, with legal proceedings ongoing, we are not in a position to comment further at this stage.鈥
In determining squad selection, Jersey Cricket has considered precedent set by other international cricketing bodies, including New Zealand Cricket and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), who have in past instances permitted players facing non-cricket-related legal proceedings to continue to represent their teams.
Consistent with this approach, we have selected players based solely on cricketing merit.
