Villajoyosa open-air concerts for all tastes

Villajoyosa is set for a summer of free cultural events in emblematic spaces such as the La Senyoreta de l鈥橦ort estate, Censal Park and the Barbera dels Aragon茅s estate. Among the many performances in dance, circus, theatre and cinema, music takes centre stage in July, with a diverse calendar of concerts for all audiences, styles and ages.

The Department of Culture, led by councillor Marisa Mingot, has opted for a varied and accessible programme that brings culture outdoors and transforms natural and urban spaces into cultural stages. Within this proposal, live music becomes an essential part of the summer calendar, with performances ranging from classical chamber music to operatic singing and popular music.

The musical programme kicks off on Thursday, 3 July at the auditorium of the Barbera dels Aragon茅s estate, with the show Rocket Carnival Clownz. This playful performance blends clowning and live music to pay tribute to the legendary clowns who inspired artists such as Jimi Hendrix in the 1960s. A rock-infused show full of absurd humour, it sets a festive and family-friendly tone for the summer season.

A week later, on Friday, 11 July, classical music takes the spotlight at La Senyoreta de l鈥橦ort with a concert by Camerata Amicitia, a string ensemble made up of soloists awarded at national and international competitions. Their repertoire includes works by Vivaldi, Mozart, Turina, Alb茅niz, Bartok, Reger, Shostakovich, Dvorak and Rossini, among others. The natural setting of La Senyoreta will offer the perfect backdrop for an open-air night of classical music under the stars.

On Thursday, 17 July, the lyrical genre takes over the Barbera auditorium with Les Arts amb tu, a concert by young vocalists and pianists from the Centre de Perfeccionament of the Palau de les Arts in Valencia. They will present a programme of opera arias and zarzuela duets, offering the audience a chance to enjoy great classics of the lyrical repertoire in an intimate and accessible setting.

In addition to live music, the July cultural programme includes musical cinema, such as the screening of Sing 2 on Saturday, 12 July at the Barbera estate, and the popular musical comedy Mamma Mia!, which will be shown on Saturday, 19 July at La Senyoreta de l鈥橦ort. These titles further expand the month鈥檚 musical offerings, allowing audiences of all ages to enjoy stories full of rhythm and emotion.

Through these events, the Department of Culture reinforces its commitment to delivering a wide-ranging programme, with activities designed for all audiences and spread across different venues in the town. The Estiu a la Senyoreta cycle, in particular, becomes a cultural meeting point every weekend, combining music, cinema and performing arts in a welcoming open-air setting.

In short, July in Villajoyosa offers the perfect chance to enjoy live music in open spaces, with quality performances ranging from the baroque to contemporary pop, and from classical voice to genre fusion. Culture is in the air throughout La Vila, inviting locals and visitors alike to enjoy summer nights with a truly exceptional soundtrack.
