Neil Young and The Chrome Hearts will headline Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage tonight. The Canadian folk star is returning to the Somerset festival more than 15 years after his last appearance, when he headlined in 2009. Young, 79, is bringing his Love Earth tour to the UK this year, headlining BST Hyde Park festival in London as well as Glastonbury. However, the singer almost didn’t make it to Glastonbury this year, initially claiming he had rejected the offer to headline due to the festival’s ties to the BBC. He then backtracked, saying there was an 鈥渆rror in the information received鈥 before organisers announced him as the first headliner for the 2025 event. In a social media post at the time of the announcement, organiser Emily Eavis wrote: “Neil Young is an artist who鈥檚 very close to our hearts at Glastonbury. He does things his own way and that鈥檚 why we love him. We can鈥檛 wait to welcome him back here to headline the Pyramid in June.” Young, who is married to US actress Daryl Hannah, released his first album in 1968 and has continued to put out new music, with his most recent single titled Big Change released in January. He is best known for his hit songs Heart of Gold, Four Strong Winds and Harvest Moon, as well as his 1972 UK number one album titled Harvest. He also enjoyed success with the supergroup Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and was in the rock band Buffalo Springfield. Here’s what you need to know about Neil Young’s set, including the start time, who might join him, the songs to expect and more.
