Alhaji Aminu Dantata, a prominent businessman and philanthropist from Kano, has passed away at the age of 94.
His death was announced on Saturday by his Principal Private Secretary, Mustapha Abdullahi Junaid, in a Facebook post.
鈥淚t is with heavy heart that I announce the passing of our beloved father, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata.
May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus and forgive his shortcomings.

Dantata was the founder of Express Petroleum & Gas Company Ltd and a key figure in Nigeria鈥檚 business landscape. He was also the brother of the grandfather of billionaire industrialist, Alhaji Aliko Dangote.
