Lagos goes agog as Aroko celebrates 60

Hon. Shittu Rasaq aka Aroko is a prominent Lagos socialite and politician; this was why when he decided to celebrate his 60th birthday recently, it had to be in grand style with so much glitz and glamour.

The Ronny Dee Events Centre in Agege was a beehive of activities on Sunday, June 22, as families, friends, associates and political followers gathered to celebrate with Aroko.

Big time Lagos socialites, traditional leaders, and business partners, both from within Nigeria and the diaspora were not left out.

Born on June 14, 1965 to Alhaji Ganiyu Shittu and Alhaja Fausat Ibilewa Shittu in Ijebu-Ode, Aroko鈥檚 life has been a testament to his hard work and dedication. He began his primary education at Anglican Primary School, Ogudu, and later attended Ogudu Senior Grammar School. Aroko furthered his education at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, where he earned professional certificates in Security and Safety Management and Public Administration.

Aroko鈥檚 impressive career spans multiple fields. He has worked in the printing industry, rising to become Assistant Production Manager at Reward Publishing Company. He is also a successful automobile dealer, serving as the Managing Director/CEO of RASLAB MOTORS and Treasurer of the United Motor Dealers Association at Tin-can Port, Apapa.

In politics, Aroko has held various positions within the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, including Revenue Consultant to the Local Government. He is also a Special Adviser on Security matters to Man O鈥 War, Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government.

Felicitations from notable figures poured in ceaselessly, with the chairman of the occasion, Hon. Usman Akanbi Hamzat, describing Aroko as a loving and lovely brother, diligent in all his dealings.

Hamzat highlighted Aroko鈥檚 selfless leadership and public service in different capacities.

The event featured live music by Ramon Akanni, while guests, including Hon. Benjamin Adeyemi Olabinjo, Member House of Representatives, Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency, and Hon. Adewale Temitope Adedeji, Member Lagos State House of Assembly, Representing Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 1 regaled the celebrator with goodwill messages and speeches.

Others are Hon. Akin Fadayomi, Hon. (Mrs) Kofoworola Ajayi, Otunba Rafiu Akinyemi, Dr. Waheel Adeleke Ipaye, HRM, Oba Gbolahan Ogundimu, Hon. Lekan Jongbo, Hon. Kamoru Sunmonu to mention but few.
