A woman died after a tree fell on her near Kumbaradi village in Karnataka’s Sakleshpur taluk on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Sunanda, 40, hailing from the same village.
Sunanda and a couple of other women were on their way back to the village from an estate, when a tree fell on her. The other women escaped unhurt.
Sakleshpur rural police have registered a case following the incident.
Many parts of Sakleshpur have been receiving heavy rains for the past few days. Hanbal, Hettur, and Yeslur hoblis of Sakleshpur taluk received 53.7 mm, 96.5 mm and 55.3 mm of rainfall, respectively, in the 24 hours that ended at 8.30 a.m. on Friday.
