A 13-year-old boy identified as Oscar Mike, has died after being hit by a car at Simakuni Village along the Lilongwe–Salima Road in Dowa District.
Dowa Police spokesperson Alice Sitima confirmed the sad news and said the accident happened as the boy was crossing the road from left to right.
The accident involved a car driven by Precious Matiti, who was travelling from Lilongwe to Salima with three passengers.
Oscar was taken to Chankhungu Health Centre After he sustained serious head injuries, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
