Selvaperunthagai clarified that the visit was purely out of personal respect and had no political significance.

Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president K Selvaperunthagai met Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder Dr S Ramadoss at his residence on Friday, 27 June, to enquire about his health.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Selvaperunthagai clarified that the visit was purely out of personal respect and had no political significance.

鈥淭here is no politics in this meeting. It was a courtesy visit to enquire about Dr Ramadoss鈥 well-being. Political discussions, especially on alliances, do not happen in such informal settings,鈥 he said.

When asked about alliance matters, the TNCC chief reiterated that decisions regarding seat-sharing and alliance coordination in Tamil Nadu would be taken by Chief Minister and INDIA bloc leader MK Stalin.

He further took a swipe at the BJP and its allies, stating, 鈥淎ll parties aligning with the BJP eventually face internal conflicts and disintegration. The confrontational stance taken by PMK will only end up benefiting the BJP.鈥

The meeting comes amid evolving alliance dynamics in the state, but Selvaperunthagai was firm in dismissing any speculation of a political realignment.
