Blossoms will return to Worthy Farm this evening for their third appearance at Glastonbury with a one hour set packed full of their infectious indie-pop sound. The five-piece from Stockport, comprised of Tom Ogden, Charlie Salt, Josh Dewhurst, Joe Donovan, and Myles Kellock, are known for their layered, psychedelic-tinged sound – drawing inspiration from 80s pop, Madchester bands, and even hints of Chic. They are a well-regarded live act, having played at major festivals like The Great Escape, Reading and Leeds and Isle of Wight. Their self-titled debut album featured the hit song Charlemagne , which is an anthem that feels like it was made specifically for a music festival crowd. Last September, the band played a hometown gig to 30,000 fans at Wythenshawe Park – their biggest show to date. Following the release of their fifth studio album, Gary , weeks later, the band go into their set at the Woodsies this weekend feeling as confident and fully formed as they ever have. The band’s most memorable performance at Glastonbury has to be 2022’s team-up with 80s pop powerhouse Rick Astley. The band were joined by the Never Gonna Give You Up singer for an unforgettable set which included a rendition of The Smiths’ There Is A Light That Never Goes Out . Blossoms will play the Woodsies on Friday evening. They are scheduled to perform from 6pm to 7pm. They will follow legendary chart-topping singer Lola Young. Highlights from the five main stages will be shown on the BBC iPlayer , as well as on BBC One and Two at various points over the weekend. Blossoms will have their Glastonbury set broadcast on BBC Four on Friday, June 27th, at 8:00PM.
