A North Carolina shelter dog named DJ, who is known for his high energy and playful nature, has finally found a new home after being returned twice by the previous adopters. The SPCA of Wake County in Raleigh that said DJ was originally transferred from a local high-intake shelter on June 5. DJ was described as a “goofy, spirited dog.” The dog was known for his love of water and splashing in kiddie pools, as per People. However, in a Facebook post shared on June 17, the SPCA said that DJ was returned twice for being “too playful” with other animals in the home. “He wants to be friends so badly, but his in-your-face play style hasn’t meshed well with calmer companions,” the shelter said. Samantha Ranlet, who is the communications manager at the SPCA, told Newsweek that DJ was first returned shortly after adoption because the family couldn’t manage his energy. Then, a second family also returned him two days into a trial period because he was too eager to play with their cats.
