A lifelong local, Ben brings extensive experience in community safety and business engagement, alongside a deep-rooted passion for the town.
Ben grew up in and around Stourbridge, studied at Dudley College, and later attended university in Birmingham.
His stepfather owned the former Thompson鈥檚 Bakery, in the old indoor market, giving Ben a strong personal connection to the town.
Professionally, Ben has worked with Cougar Monitoring security firm serving local authorities and Assure Security, based on the Gainsborough Trading Estate, supporting businesses with tailored security solutions. He also collaborated with Bilston BID on crime prevention initiatives, gaining valuable insight into partnership-led community improvement.
As BID manager, Ben aims to deliver the BID鈥檚 vision to promote Stourbridge and develop its reputation as an attractive, vibrant, historical market town.
His role will involve working with traders to create visible improvements, foster community spirit and boost footfall to support local businesses in the town centre.

Aaron Powell, chairman of Stourbridge BID Steering Group and manager of the Ryemarket Shopping Centre, said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e thrilled to welcome Ben as our new BID manager.

He added: 鈥滲en鈥檚 appointment comes as Stourbridge BID begins its first five-year term, having been voted in by local businesses in October 2024 and officially launched on April 1 2025.
The BID is project managed by pfbb UK consultancy which has a track record in delivering successful BIDs across the UK.
