Radda Dismisses Vice Presidential Ambition Rumours, Reaffirms Commitment To Serve People Of Katsina

KATSINA 鈥 Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has debunked the rumors circulating about his alleged vice presidential ambitions, declaring that his singular focus remains serving the people of the State.

Speaking during a working visit to the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum on Tuesday, Governor Radda addressed the political speculation, saying, 鈥淚鈥檝e seen posters and messages suggesting I鈥檓 pursuing another office. Let me be clear: I sought your mandate to serve as Governor of Katsina State, and that is my only focus鈥.

鈥淚 am not behind any campaign to contest elsewhere. My duty is to fulfill the trust you鈥檝e placed in me.鈥

The Governor who oversaw the distribution of 600 bags of maize and 鈧5,000 cash to each victim of insecurity, commended the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum for organizing the compassion-driven initiative.

鈥淭oday demonstrates our shared values, caring for one another and standing together through tough times鈥, the governor remarked, describing the gesture as rooted in empathy and humanity.

He acknowledged Hon. Aminu Dan Arewa, Member of the House of Representatives, Kurfi/Dutsin-Ma Federal constituency, who contributed 鈧6 million for additional victim support.

鈥淭his is the kind of leadership Nigeria needs, one that leads with action, not just promises,鈥 the Governor stated.

Reaffirming his administration鈥檚 commitment to peace, he said, 鈥淪ecurity remains our topmost priority. We鈥檙e working tirelessly to restore lasting peace to Katsina. We will never make promises we can鈥檛 keep, and our decisions will continue to be guided by sincerity and the fear of God.鈥

Responding to community concerns, Radda announced plans to extend the waterway project from Dutsin-Ma to Charanchi and other nearby areas.

While appreciating the second-term endorsement, Governor Radda said, 鈥淚f it is the will of Allah and good for the people, it shall be, but if not, I pray for Allah to guide us to something even better.鈥

Dr. Sabi鈥檜 Liadi, Chairman of the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum, in his remarks, praised the governor鈥檚 humility and responsiveness, noting that their endorsement was performance-based. 鈥淵our presence here today speaks volumes. You chose to come in person, and that shows the kind of leader you are.鈥

Executive Chairman of Dutsin-Ma Local Government, Hon. Kabir Abdussalam Shema, on his part, described Governor Radda as a compassionate and courageous personality.

鈥淲ithout hesitation, we endorse Your Excellency for a second term. We believe in continuity because we have seen tangible results.鈥
