Patna: With four months to go for the Bihar Assembly elections, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj picked “School Bag” as its poll symbol. The poll symbol aptly conveys Jan Suraaj’s mission, which largely rallies around the quality education for the youth of Bihar. The poll body has so far not announced the schedule for the Bihar Assembly election 2025, which is likely to be held in October-November. The term of the current regime will end on November 22. PK’s Entry Makes Bihar Polls Further Intriguing In this election, Prashant Kishor will be challenging both JD(U)-led NDA coalition in power and the RJD-led INDIA Bloc, as he would look to present Jan Suraaj as an alternative to these alliances. On picking the school bag as his party symbol, Kishor said, 鈥淥ur entire focus is on education and employment, and that鈥檚 why the school bag is our election symbol.鈥 鈥淒uring the 35 years of Lalu-Nitish rule, the school bag has been removed from the backs of the children of Bihar and a sack of labour has been tied on them,鈥 he said. Jan Suraaj was launched by Prashant Kishor in October 2024 after he travelled throughout the state, doing a padyatra to carry his message across. The party has already announced that it will contest all 243 seats in the state and directly challenge the established parties 鈥 the JD (U), BJP, RJD, and the Congress.
