Philanthropist and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates warmly received Ghana鈥檚 President John Dramani Mahama during a high-level meeting held in Brussels, Belgium, where the two leaders discussed pressing global development issues, healthcare, and equitable growth strategies for Africa.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Global Summit on GAVI Vaccine Replenishment, where President Mahama is attending in his capacity as an advocate and ambassador for global vaccination efforts. The summit aims to rally international support to fund vaccines for children worldwide and protect millions from preventable diseases.
According to a statement released on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, the president鈥檚 trip to Brussels includes several key engagements with prominent global leaders, including the President of the European Union Council of Ministers and Bill Gates.
During the meeting, President Mahama and Mr. Gates held in-depth discussions centred on strengthening public health systems, enhancing access to education, and driving sustainable development across the African continent.
