An FIR has been lodged against Big Boss OTT 2 fame and YouTuber Puneet Kumar, popularly known as Puneet Superstar, for allegedly hurting the sentiments of people of Himachal Pradesh by allegedly portraying them as people struggling with poverty in his videos.
The Himachal Pradesh Police booked the social media influencer under sections 196 (promoting enmity) and 353(2) (making, publishing, and circulating false information) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), reported Indian Express.
The police stated that an influencer filmed several videos in Manali, which, when uploaded, hurt the sentiments of the local residents.
The Police said that the FIR was registered based on the complaint of Ranvijay Singh of Sundernagar in Mandi district.

Singh initially lodged a zero FIR at his nearest police station in Sundernagar, which was later forwarded to Manali station for investigation,鈥 Manish Sharma, Inspector and Station House Officer (SHO) of Manali police station told the news outlet.
In his complaint, the resident alleged that the videos uploaded by Puneet on his Facebook account mocked the poor residents of Manali. He further said that the influencer made objectionable remarks on the local people鈥檚 attire, speech, and lifestyle.
After the videos went viral on social media, it led to widespread outrage across Himachal Pradesh.
