A staffer working at the Indian Navy headquarters in New Delhi has been arrested on charges of espionage. The accused was allegedly selling confidential strategic information to a Pakistani female handler, putting national security at stake. He also passed on crucial details during Operation Sindoor. Identified as Vishal Yadav, the accused works at the Nausena Bhawan (Naval Headquarters) in the capital as an Upper Division Clerk (UDC). His arrest has created a stir in the security agencies of the country. Female Pak Handler, Gaming Habit And Crypto Transactions Inspector General of Police, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Security, Vishnukant Gupta said that the CID Intelligence was constantly monitoring the espionage activities carried out by Pakistani intelligence agencies. It was during this surveillance that they found that Vishal Yadav was working in the Directorate of Dockyard in Naval Bhawan in Delhi, and was in constant contact with a female handler of a Pakistani intelligence agency through social media. This woman, whose pseudonym is said to be Priya Sharma, was inciting Vishal to extract confidential information of strategic importance from Naval Bhawan by luring him with money. Initial investigation has revealed that Vishal Yadav was addicted to playing online games, and to fulfil his financial needs, he started selling the information. Police said that Yadav was receiving USDT in his cryptocurrency trading account and funds directly in his bank accounts by providing sensitive information to the female Pakistan handler. Shared Info During Operation Sindoor The Intelligence Wing of the Rajasthan Police did a forensic analysis of the suspect’s mobile phone and found that he was sharing information during Operation Sindoor. The chats and documents recovered from his mobile revealed that Vishal Yadav had provided confidential information related to the Navy and other defence forces to this female handler in Pakistan, even during Operation Sindoor. Indian has launched Operation Sindoor in response to the Pahalgam terror attack when terrorists from Pakistan killed 26 tourists in Jammu and Kashmir. Rajasthan CID Intelligence arrested Vishal Yadav, a resident of Punsika, Rewari Haryana, on Wednesday (June 25) under the Official Secrets Act 1923. Vishal is now being jointly interrogated by various intelligence agencies at the Central Interrogation Centre in Jaipur. Security agencies are now trying to find out who else is involved in this racket and how much sensitive information has been leaked. Security agencies have also appealed to the general public to be alert about any suspicious person or activity on social media and report it immediately.
