The heads of the crime investigation units from Macau, Guangdong, and Hong Kong met on Tuesday in Dongguan to discuss ways to combat cross-border crimes and enforce social order. With the upcoming Legislative elections in Hong Kong and Macau in mind, as well as the 15th National Games approaching, the three regions have pledged to deepen collaboration on security and police technology innovation. The meeting emphasized that although the judicial systems of the three areas differed, the police departments of the three regions would collaborate to maintain regional stability. They discussed crime trends, joint operations, and strategies to enhance cooperation on economic, anti-smuggling, drug, and gambling-related offenses.
