Munawar Faruqui made his acting debut with a web series, First Copy, which is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video and MX Player. The web show has been receiving a lot of love from the fans. Munawar shares a strong bond of friendship with Samay Raina. In an exclusive interaction with Zoom, the Bigg Boss 17 winner revealed how Samay Raina became his close friend. Munawar Faruqui on his bond with Samay Raina During a fan interaction through us, Munawar Faruqui was asked about his bond with Samay Raina, who started the show, India’s Got Latent. Munawar revealed how the friendship with Samay started. Munawar Faruqui said, “Samay Raina and I met during an open mic event. He watched me perform my set and got impressed by it. He even told me that I was amazing. He was doing Comicstaan. So just to test the material of it, he would come for the open mic events. In 2019, we were in the same line-up. I killed it, and he loved it. He even asked me about not doing enough spots. I told him that some people don’t give me spots. I had mentioned to Samay that some insecure people don’t give me spots to perform. Then, Samay asked me to open for his stand-up show.” After hearing the offer, Munawar Faruqui quickly said yes to Samay. The stand-up comedian stated, “I immediately said, ‘Yes’. I did it for him and performed for 7–8 minutes. After the end of the show, Samay offered me to open his upcoming 10 shows. He said, “Samay and I know everything about each other. We are very comfortable. We are more comfortable offline than online. Kyunki woh bolte hai na, ‘Aag aur aag jab mile, toh woh naa hi dikhe toh hi acha hai.’” Talking about Munawar Faruqui, the stand-up comedian has also won Lock Upp, hosted by Kangana Ranaut.
