The Indian adaptation of the global murder-mystery-meets-reality show, The Traitors is hosted by Karan Johar, and is streaming on Prime Video. The participants are a mix of actors, artists, YouTubers, and influencers – including Anshula Kapoor, Uorfi Javed, Maheep Kapoor, Apoorva Mukhija, Raj Kundra, Ashish Vidyarthi, Mukesh Chhabra, Raftaar, and more. The Quint caught up Anshula Kapoor, and spoke to her about her experience on the show, the impact it had on her mental health, the content shown on the ‘garb on reality show’, and more. Anshula said she agreed to do the show because, in several conversations she had with the creators before saying yes, she was made to believe,”the show would be akin to the original format, but that’s not what it ended up being.”While she’s glad she had this experience, it’s not something she would wish on others.Anshula describes her experience on the show as “traumatising” and “stressful”, “it was not about filming long hours, but about the conversations and atmosphere of the house,” she says. What also proved challenging, she adds, was “living without communication with the outside world for the entire duration of the show, was extremely difficult.”We were not allowed to speak to other contestants once we were out of the filming area.Anshula Kapoor, Content Creator She further adds, “there were no intercoms in our room. They had blacked out our room numbers, so we didn’t know our own or anyone else’s room number. They had placed wind chimes outside our room door, and if you open the door when you weren’t supposed to, someone would come and tell you not leave your room.”She recalls a day when the contestants weren鈥檛 shooting and were confined to their respective rooms for 24 hours.I had to go back into intensive therapy after the show and I was diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.Anshul Kapoor, Content Creator Watch the video for more.Apoorva Mukhija on Trolls, Threats & Speaking Her Mind(At The Quint, we question everything.
