A comprehensive security arrangement has been made for the upcoming Rath Yatra in Puri involving thousands of police personnel and advanced technology to ensure the safety of devotees and smooth rolling of chariots of the Holy Trinity official sources informed on Wednesday.

According to sources Puri is gearing up for the divine car festival with heightened security measures being implemented across the pilgrimage town. Several senior IPS officers including Soumendra Priyadarshi Sanjay Kumar Amitabh Thakur S. Praveen Kumar Sarthak Sarangi and Puri SP Vinit Agrawal will be overseeing the security arrangements for the world-famous event.
Around 10000 police personnel will be deployed in Puri during the Rath Yatra festivities. The security forces have been reinforced with the inclusion of anti-drone systems dog squads and 200 platoons of force.
In total at least eight companies of BSF CRPF and Rapid Action Force RAF will contribute to maintaining law and order.
Police have divided the town into as many as eight zones for effective security and crowd control. Traffic management inner temple security inner cordon security and crowd control arrangements are in place. To ensure that every corner is monitored 275 CCTV cameras will be set up across the town.
The security measures will also cover all routes including land water and air to guarantee the safe conduct of the festival.
